Our Process Welcome to Gardner Financial Planning, a comprehensive financial services firm. Our single focus is to be instrumental in helping you achieve your goals. We believe that having a comprehensive plan and road-map to your ultimate goal is the most effective way for you to achieve success. We also believe that the most effective investment management strategy must be designed to meet your plans’ goal. Why we do what we do (Our Core Beliefs) Regarding retirement... We believe that income security is THE greatest challenge facing retirees today. We believe that life expectancy could soon make retirement the longest single phase of our lives. We believe that proper, comprehensive financial planning can make retirement the most enjoyable phase. For everyone in all life phases... We believe that financial success is the result of disciplined savings and a prudent investment strategy borne of extensive and ongoing research. We believe that taxes place a significant drag on wealth accumulation and that tax planning is a key element of a good plan.* We believe that the prudent use of debt can be a benefit rather than a burden. We believe that managing casualty risk is critical to insure income security and estate preservation. We believe that the rising cost of healthcare will be the greatest single financial challenge facing our society in the future. If you believe what we believe, come join us. How we do it We begin all client relationships with a thorough discussion of what is truly important in your life. We discuss your dreams for the future and add a deadline to turn your dreams into goals. We then map out a plan to achieve them. All goals have some financial impact so we design financial strategies focused on achieving your goals. When most people think of “financial advisors” they picture someone who will invest their money. Indeed, many financial advisory firms and most financial reporters focus on investment performance almost exclusively. Our belief is that your financial success is best achieved when investments are selected based on how well they support the successful achievement of your goals. In this context, investment selection is optimized because there is a clear reason for each investment to be in your portfolio. We come to you! If you'd prefer, we will meet with you in your home where you are most relaxed and comfortable as we develop your personal plan. We can also meet in our office, located near center-city Vineland, NJ. Each plan will uncover items that are specific to you and your personal situation. We will recommend action steps you can take that could move you closer to your goal. Once the plan is in place we recommend investment strategies that we feel are appropriate to the plan goals. We continuously monitor investments and touch base with you at least quarterly, but we welcome your calls whenever you want to talk. What we do Experience has shown us and our clients that the most powerful benefit we can offer is that of our counsel. We are your go-to source for all financial matters and encourage you to call us whenever you need us. We are your coach on all financial matters and can work with your accountant or attorney on specific tax or legal issues. The vast majority of our client calls and meetings focus on help with budgeting, taxes*, mortgages and income security. Because these are often the major issues to our clients, support in these areas is a major focus for us as well. Helping our clients make good financial decisions in these areas can often be financially more important than return on their investments. In order to make sure we are continuing down the desired path, we will meet annually to review and update your plan based on changes in your life or your goals. We can also meet with you more often to discuss changes as they occur or, we are available by phone or email. As early as 2001, Vanguard began a research project on “how financial advisors could add value through relationship oriented services such as providing cogent wealth management via financial planning, discipline and guidance". Called Advisor Alpha, the most recent report actually attempts to quantify the value of working with a financial advisor.
